Will Vaults.lol ever support username aliases?
No. Vaults.lol keeps one username per account on purpose, so short and rare handles stay available to real users instead of being hoarded, kept dead or resold.
The short answer
No. Vaults.lol will not support aliases, where extra handles on your account all redirect to one profile. This is a deliberate decision, not a feature sitting in a backlog waiting for someone to build it.
One account gets one username. That username is your address, and nobody else can have it while you hold it. We are keeping it that way.
What an alias would actually mean
An alias is a second, third or fourth handle that redirects to your main page. You keep one profile, but you also hold several extra addresses, and anyone who types one of them lands on your page.
It sounds harmless when you picture the one or two names you would want. It stops being harmless the moment a few hundred people do the same maths.
Why aliases lead straight to username hoarding
If every account could attach 3 to 5 extra handles, rare names would be gone within days. People would register clean dictionary words, short letter combinations and OG names purely so nobody else can have them, then never share or use those handles at all.
That leaves new users with nothing. Someone who joins later and wants a normal, clean name for their own page finds every good one already locked up by an account that has no intention of using it. The handle is not being used, it is being parked.
It also feeds a resale market. Names that are only held to be sold elsewhere are not usernames, they are inventory, and that is a completely different site from the one we are building.
Vaults is not a place to collect and resell names
Vaults was never made so people could gather rare usernames and sell them somewhere else. That is not the intention of the platform at all, and it never will be.
Username selling, trading, gifting and transferring are already against the Terms, and licences sold by Vaults.lol grant use on one account and cannot be resold. If we see accounts held for that purpose, including someone running several accounts just to sit on names, we can revoke those accounts and block the IP they are coming from.
We would rather a short or clean handle sit unclaimed for a while than be held by someone who is only waiting to profit from it.
Multiple accounts are allowed, for real reasons
Having more than one Vaults account is not against the rules. Premium users, meaning Lifetime or Supporter, can run up to 5 accounts. The condition is that all of them are actually used and edited.
That allowance exists for normal situations. Several people living in the same house and sharing one IP, a partnership where each person needs their own page, or someone living in a building where everyone is on similar wifi and the same address shows up across accounts. In cases like that we are flexible, and we can allow specific IPs so people sharing a connection are never flagged for something they did not choose.
What the allowance is never for is username hoarding. 5 accounts does not mean 5 chances to grab handles and park them. An account that exists only to hold a name can be revoked even with premium, and the same goes for anyone using the allowance to collect usernames.
What you can do instead
If you want a different name to appear on the page itself, your display name is fully separate from your username. It can contain spaces, capitals, symbols and emoji, and you can change it as often as you like.
If you want more room under the same address, one username can hold up to 10 pages, each with its own links, blocks, layout and URL under your name. That covers most of what people mean when they ask for a second identity.
If you genuinely run a separate project with its own active page, that is a different thing from parking a name to keep it away from others. Premium users can hold up to 5 accounts as long as every one of them is real and used. An account created to hold a handle is not that.
If the exact handle you want is already taken, the username licences offered directly by Vaults.lol are the only way we sell them, and they are for use on your own account.
Who Vaults is for
Vaults is for creators, streamers, musicians, artists, students and anyone who wants a good looking profile of their own. A place to put your links, your music, your backgrounds and your badges somewhere that feels like you.
It is not a place to flex a rare name, and it is not a trading post for handles. The point of a Vaults page is what is on it, not how short the URL was.
