How to make your Vaults.lol page load faster

Use the free Entrance Splash Screen and compress your media before embedding it. Large videos, GIFs, images and audio files can make your page take longer to load.

The short answer

Vaults recommends enabling Entrance Splash Screen and keeping your media files small. Compress images before adding them, as recommended in the dashboard, and reduce large GIFs, video backgrounds and audio files too.

Files above 10 MB can take longer to download, especially on mobile data or a slow connection. Treat 10 MB as a practical guideline, not a hard limit or a guarantee that smaller files load instantly.

Compress images and GIFs first

An image can be much larger than it needs to be, even when it looks small on your page. Resize it to suit where it is displayed and compress it before using it. For still images, WebP or AVIF can reduce file size, depending on the original.

Animated GIFs can be particularly large. Shorten the animation, lower its resolution or reduce its frame rate where appropriate. For a background, an efficiently encoded video may be smaller than a long GIF. Keep a copy of your original and check the compressed version for visible quality loss.

Keep video backgrounds and audio manageable

A long, high-resolution video background can take longer to start than a short compressed loop. Trim unused footage and use a resolution and bitrate appropriate for a profile background rather than the largest export available.

Audio file size matters too. Compress an oversized track and avoid unnecessarily large lossless files when a smaller version sounds good. If your page uses a video, GIF, several images and music, their combined download size matters, not just each file individually.

Use a reliable direct media URL

Most profile media is embedded from the URL you provide. The file host, the visitor's connection and the device also affect loading. Use a reliable host and a direct file URL that plays or displays without requiring a sign-in.

After replacing a file with a compressed version, update its URL in Customize. If it still loads slowly, check the media URL directly and compare its size with the original. Contact Vaults support if the page itself fails to open rather than only taking time to load media.
