How do you put a link in your Instagram story?
Use the Link sticker in Instagram stories to add a clickable link. Here is how, plus why sending people to one bio page works best.
Short answer
Create a story, tap the sticker icon at the top, choose Link, paste your URL and place the sticker on the story. Viewers tap the sticker to open your link. The old swipe up feature was replaced by this sticker.
Step by step
Open Instagram and swipe right or tap your profile picture to start a story. Take or pick a photo or video. Tap the sticker icon (the square smiley face). Tap Link, paste your URL, and optionally change the sticker text. Tap Done, drag the sticker where you want it and share.
If the Link sticker is missing
Update the Instagram app first. Instagram sometimes limits the sticker on new accounts or accounts with guideline issues. If it still does not show, try again later or check Account status in your settings.
Get more taps
Make the sticker big and easy to see, add a short line of text telling people what they get, and point an arrow or GIF at it. Stories disappear after 24 hours, so save important ones to a Highlight.
Send people to one page
Instead of a new link every story, link to your Vaults.lol page. It holds all your socials, buttons, music and videos in one place, loads fast on phones, and Analytics shows how many visitors came from Instagram.
