How media embeds and copyright work on Vaults.lol

No. Vaults.lol does not store background videos, background images, music or block media on its own servers. When you add a video, image, GIF or song to your profile, you paste a link, and your profile plays it straight from wherever that link lives. Vaults.lol is the frame, not the host.

The one exception is your avatar, which you upload directly so it loads fast and stays put. Everything else is link based.

The Profile Library in your dashboard is a list of background videos, images and GIFs submitted by community members. Vaults.lol does not select, screen or review anything in the library. The files themselves are hosted on external media hosts such as Kappa.lol, not on Vaults.lol. When you press Use video or Use image, you are copying a direct link to that external host, the same as if you had found the link yourself and pasted it into Customize.

Background links play directly from their external hosts. The Music tab links only to Pixabay genre searches for free music under its license. Check each track’s license and any Content ID notices; you are responsible for your use. Download a song on Pixabay, then upload it through Audio in Customize, which hosts it for you. Use Trim song in the Audio popup to pick where it starts and ends. It is a convenience, not a store. Nothing in the library is sold, and copying a link from it is free on every tier.

The original creators do. Clips, edits, artwork and animations belong to whoever made them, and being easy to download somewhere on the internet does not change that. Vaults.lol does not claim ownership or authorship of anything in the Profile Library, and the library only links to files that are already publicly hosted elsewhere.

If you use media from the library or from your own links, treat it the way you would treat any found media: credit creators when you can, and do not present someone else's work as your own.

If you are the creator or rights holder of something in the Profile Library and you want it removed, contact us and we will take the link out of the library. Include the link as it appears in the library so we can find it quickly.

Because the files are hosted on Kappa.lol, removing a link from the Vaults.lol library stops us from offering it, but the file itself may still exist on the host. For full removal of the file, contact the host as well. If a profile you own embeds media someone claims, we may ask you to swap the link.

Any direct link that plays: MP4 or WebM videos, YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive and similar embeds for backgrounds, direct image links for pictures and GIFs, and direct audio file links for music. The Customize page checks your link and tells you if it will not play before you save.

Streaming pages like Spotify or SoundCloud do not play as profile music. Add those as a block instead, or use a direct audio file link.
