Partners and bonds (soulmate, partner, collab, team, friends)

A bond is a public link between two Vaults.lol profiles. It shows up as a small mark right next to your name on your profile, with the display name of the person you're bonded with. Anyone who visits your page can click the mark and jump straight to their profile.

There are five kinds of bonds: Soulmate, Partner, Collab, Team and Friends. Soulmate and Partner are one to one. Collab, Team and Friends each hold up to 10 people. The kinds are separate, so you can have a Soulmate, a Partner, a Collab crew, a Team and 10 friends all at once.

Open vaults.lol/dashboard/partners. Type the username of the Vaults.lol account you want to bond with, pick the kind (Soulmate, Partner, Collab, Team or Friends) and optionally add a short note. Only one of you needs to send the request, the other one accepts.

The recipient sees your request in their Inbox at vaults.lol/dashboard/inbox with an Accept and a Decline button. If they Accept, the bond is live and the mark appears on both profiles instantly. If they Decline, you cannot send them the same kind of bond again.

Both people need a Vaults.lol account. Sending a request to a username that does not exist on Vaults will fail with 'user not found'. Bonds are free on every tier, there is no Lifetime or Supporter requirement to send, accept, receive or display a bond.

Friends is the casual bond, and it works exactly like the others. Open vaults.lol/dashboard/partners, pick Friends, type their username, add an optional note and send it. They accept in their Inbox and a green friends mark appears on both profiles.

You can have up to 10 friends. It is free on every tier, same as every other bond. There is no feed and nobody follows anybody, a friend bond only ever shows on the two profiles involved.

You can only be in one Soulmate bond at a time, and one Partner bond. Collab, Team and Friends each hold up to 10 people, so once you reach 10 friends you have to remove one before adding another.

This is enforced server side, not just in the UI. It cannot be glitched by clicking fast or opening two tabs.

Either person can end a bond, at any time, without asking the other. Open vaults.lol/dashboard/partners, find the bond, hit Break bond. It is gone for both sides immediately, the mark disappears from both profiles, and either of you is free to bond with someone else.

There is no confirmation dance and no cooldown before you can send a new request. Removing one friend out of ten only removes that one.

When someone visits vaults.lol/yourname, they see your bond marks next to your name. A single Soulmate or Partner shows as 'Soulmates with' or 'Partnered with' plus that person's display name. Collab, Team and Friends show a count, for example 'Friends with 4 people', and clicking it opens a popup listing everyone with a direct link to each profile.

Each kind has its own color: Soulmate pink, Partner purple, Collab blue, Team orange, Friends green. The marks use display names, not usernames, so they update when someone changes their display name.

If your bonded partner deletes their Vaults.lol account, the bond is automatically removed for you too. You are not stuck bonded to a dead account, the pill disappears from your profile, and you can send or accept a new bond immediately.

The same happens to pending requests. If someone deletes their account while a request is in flight, the request is cleaned up automatically.

If you decline someone's request, they cannot send you the same kind of bond again. This is enforced server side. You will not get spammed with the same Soulmate request over and over from the same user after you have said no once.

Different kinds are separate. If you decline a Team request, that user can still send you a Soulmate request later.
