Is Vaults.lol lagging or having low framerate?

If Vaults.lol feels choppy, check that graphics acceleration is enabled in your browser. Disabling it can move graphics work to the CPU and reduce framerate, but it does not explain every loading delay.

Short answer

Yes, turning off hardware acceleration, also called graphics acceleration, can make Vaults.lol feel choppy. Keep it enabled unless you are troubleshooting a specific graphics problem, then restart your browser so the change takes effect.

Without acceleration, the browser can fall back to software rendering on the CPU for graphics work that would otherwise use the GPU. This can reduce framerate and make scrolling, animation and moving backgrounds less smooth. It is a possible cause of lag, not proof that every Vaults delay comes from your device.

What hardware acceleration actually does

The CPU is your computer's general-purpose processor. The GPU is designed for graphics work. Hardware acceleration lets the browser use supported GPU features for tasks such as drawing and combining page layers, rendering 3D graphics and decoding supported video formats.

The CPU still runs page logic even when acceleration is on. Turning acceleration off does not mean every browser task suddenly moves to the CPU, and turning it on does not guarantee that every graphics feature uses the GPU. Browser support, drivers, video formats and your device all affect which tasks can be accelerated.

The practical difference can be noticeable when a page scrolls or animates. Software rendering can require more CPU work to draw each frame, leaving less time to keep movement smooth. This can affect both profiles and the dashboard.

Enable it in Chrome, Edge or Opera

Open your browser's Settings and search for acceleration. In Chrome and Edge, look for Use graphics acceleration when available under System or System and performance. Opera and Opera GX also provide an acceleration setting, though its location and wording can vary by version.

Turn the setting on and use Relaunch or restart the browser completely. Reloading the Vaults tab alone may not apply the change. After restarting, return to the same page and compare scrolling and movement.

Enable it in Firefox

Open Settings, select General and find Performance. If Use recommended performance settings is selected, Firefox manages these settings for you. To check the acceleration switch directly, clear that option and make sure Use hardware acceleration when available is enabled, if Firefox exposes it on your device.

Restart Firefox completely after changing the setting. Some devices or browser versions may not show the option, and unsupported or problematic graphics drivers can prevent acceleration from working even when it is requested.

What the Vaults warning means

Vaults can show a graphics acceleration warning when its browser graphics check detects a software renderer or cannot create a WebGL context. The warning is a useful prompt to check your browser settings, not a direct reading of the acceleration switch.

A privacy setting, disabled WebGL, an unsupported driver or a remote desktop environment can also affect that check. Not seeing the warning does not prove acceleration is working. Optional warnings are also hidden when Disable pop ups is enabled in Vaults Settings.

Low framerate and slow loading are different problems

Low framerate means the page is present but scrolling or movement looks uneven. Slow loading means you are waiting for the page, profile picture, background or another page to appear, or a loading screen stays visible for too long.

Graphics acceleration can help rendering performance, but it is not an explanation for every delayed image or stuck loading screen. If the same delay remains with acceleration enabled, do not assume your settings are the cause. Vaults-side problems need investigation too.

If acceleration is already on

Update your browser and check for graphics driver updates through your device manufacturer's official tools or your operating system. If enabling acceleration causes black frames, crashes or other graphics faults, treat that as a separate compatibility problem rather than repeatedly forcing the setting on.

Compare the same Vaults page in another up-to-date browser. You can also temporarily disable extensions for Vaults to see whether an extension changes the result. These comparisons help narrow down the problem without changing your saved profile.

If lag or long loading screens persist, contact Vaults support through the Support page. Include your browser and operating system, whether acceleration is enabled, the affected page URL and whether the problem is choppy movement or waiting for content. A short screen recording can help show an intermittent issue.
