How to use background effects
Layer a moving effect on top of your background for extra atmosphere.

Pick an effect
Open Customize, General, then General customization and choose Background effect. Options include White Cats, Red Cats, Aurora, Mesh, Rain, Snow and Old TV. White Cats and Red Cats follow the pointer and rest when it stops.
Match the effect to your background
Aurora looks great on a dark gradient. Night Sky pairs well with a city image. Rain or Snow feels seasonal. Try a few until something clicks.
Performance note
Effects render in CSS or SVG so they are light. They still cost a little. If you target older phones, prefer Mesh, Geometric or Dither over Particles or Rain.
