Short answer: yes, Vaults.lol is safe to use. It is a fully launched product with thousands of active profiles, not a weekend side project or a beta-stage startup. Here is exactly how the platform is built and what we do to keep your account, your data and your visitors safe.
Accounts and authentication
- No email is ever collected. Sign up with just a username and a password. That's the whole form.
- Optional two-factor authentication (TOTP) on every account. Turn it on in Dashboard, Settings.
- Sessions are stored in secure, httpOnly cookies. Passwords are hashed with industry-standard algorithms, never stored in plain text.
- Because we never have your email, we can't sell it, leak it, or be subpoenaed for it. There's nothing to leak.
- You can delete your account and every byte of associated data from the dashboard at any time.
Data and privacy
- Your profile data lives on a managed cloud backend with row-level security on every table. Other users cannot read or modify your private rows, ever.
- We don't sell your data and we don't run ads on profile pages.
- Public profile pages only expose what you choose to publish. Private settings and analytics stay private.
Real-time chats
Vaults chat rooms run browser to browser over WebRTC. Messages aren't written to a Vaults database and aren't logged. Rooms are invite-only via a 6-character key and end when the host closes the tab. See how Vaults chats work for the deep dive.
Uploads and content safety
- Strict file size caps: 6 MB images, 8 MB music, 25 MB video backgrounds. This prevents abuse and keeps pages fast.
- Outgoing links on profiles and in chats get a URL safety prompt before opening, so visitors always know where they're going.
- Reported profiles are reviewed manually. We remove content that violates our Terms.
Infrastructure
- HTTPS / SSL everywhere, automatic certificate renewal.
- DDoS protection at the edge.
- Hosted on enterprise grade providers (managed cloud backend + global edge).
- Daily database backups.
