Chats that don't touch a server.
Vaults chat rooms are 100% peer-to-peer with real end-to-end encryption (WebRTC DTLS/SRTP). Nothing is stored, nothing is logged, and nothing passes through a mailbox we could ever hand over.
One-time Lifetime tier. No subscription. No email required.
Peer → Peer. The server sees nothing.
Traditional chat apps route your messages through a server that reads (or could read) them. Vaults doesn't. Once two peers connect, the data channel is direct and encrypted on both ends.
Why people use it
Built for people who are done trusting servers with their conversations.
WebRTC DTLS/SRTP. The session keys are generated between the two browsers. Not by us, not on a server.
Refresh the tab, the history is gone. There is no database to breach because there is no database.
Rooms exist only while the host is present. Share the key with people you trust and no one else can join.
You sign up to Vaults with a username. Chats never ask for anything more.
No install, no extension, no desktop app. Open a link, join a room, talk.
Images and attachments ride the same encrypted data channel. They never hit our storage.
Vaults chat vs. the usual apps
You cannot scan a message that never lands anywhere.
Chat Control 1.0 and 2.0 both target one thing: message servers. Client-side scanning, backdoored E2EE, mandatory content hashing, it all assumes there is a middleman with your plaintext.
Vaults chats don't have that middleman. Two browsers negotiate a direct encrypted channel, exchange messages, and close the room. We physically do not have your conversations to scan, hand over, or lose.
- No plaintext on our infrastructureKeys are minted in the browser. We never see them.
- Nothing to subpoenaNo message logs, no attachments archive, no backups.
- Host controls the roomHost leaves, room ends. No lingering copies.
- Open to inspectThe stack is standard WebRTC. Anyone can verify what leaves the browser.
How it works
Vaults generates a 6-character key. The room lives entirely in your browser.
Send it to whoever you want in. That is the whole invite.
Browsers negotiate WebRTC. Encryption keys are minted between peers, not on our server.
When the host leaves, the room ends. Nothing sticks around anywhere.
